PM reiterates importance of constant vigilance States and Centre must work together to combat the pandemic: PM We are in a critical phase of tackling spread of the virus; there is no need to panic: PM CMs appreciate the impact of PMs address to the nation on combating COVID-19

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today interacted with Chief Ministers of all states via Video Conferencing to discuss measures to combat COVID-19.

Tackling the challenge together

Prime Minister said that the threat of the pandemic is common for all states and underscored the need of Centre and all States working together.He said that while participation of citizens is necessary to combat the challenge, but panic needs to be avoided. He added that given the global context of spread of the virus in various countries, constant vigilance is of paramount importance.He said that the next 3-4 weeks are crucial in efforts to contain the spread of the virus, and the most important measure for containment is ‘social distancing’. He requested the Chief Ministers to ensure effective implementation of the same.

Steps taken till now

Health Secretary, Government of India,Ms. Preeti Sudan informed about the steps taken till now to contain the spread of the virus and mentioned how Prime Minister has personally monitored and supervised the efforts thus far. She gave an overview of ongoing cooperation with states, monitoring of international passengers, use of community surveillance to track spread, logistics of testing facilities, travel restrictions and evacuation of Indian citizens from abroad.

Dr. Balram Bhargava, DG of ICMR, said that India is currently in phase 2 of transmission, emphasizing that at present India is in the window for taking action to minimize the risk of transmission of phase 3. He talked about the importance of judicious use of health facilities and need to focus on ramping up quarantine facilities and isolation wards. 

The Chief Ministers speak

The Chief Ministers thanked the Prime Minister for the support given by the Centre to the States in combating COVID-19 and also appreciated the impact of Prime Minister’s message in his address to the nation.

The Chief Ministers briefed the Prime Minister and others about the preparations done till now. During the course of their presentations, they requested for augmentation of testing facilities, greater support to vulnerable sections, advancement of financial disbursement for 2020-21 to the states and requested for roping in private labs and hospitals in larger numbers.

All the Chief Ministers assured their support and reaffirmed that all States will work together with Government of India to combat the pandemic.

PM assures support to States

Prime Minister appreciated the steps taken by the States and thanked them for sharing their experiences and giving suggestions. He talked about theurgent need of capacity building of healthcare workers and augmentation of healthcare infrastructure. He suggested that the Chief Ministers should do video conference with trade bodies in their states to prevent black marketing and undue price rise. He urged them to use soft power of persuasion as well as legal provisions, wherever necessary.

Prime Minister said that the COVID-19 Economic Task Force set up by Government of India will formulate the strategy to devise suitable approach to effectively tackle the economic challenge. He urged the Chief Ministers to ensurethat all necessary steps are taken and all advisories are adhered to in order to ensure the safety of citizens in the country at large. No stone should be left unturned in our common endeavors to fight COVID-19.

साथियो, अगले दो सप्ताह भारत के लिए महत्वपूर्ण हैं।
यदि हम पर्याप्त सावधानी बरतते हैं और श्रृंखला को तोड़ते हैं तो हम कोरोना वायरस का प्रकोप खत्म कर सकते हैं, वरना हमारे साथ में एक बड़ी समस्या है विशेष रूप से बुजुर्ग आबादी के लिए !
अब तक सब ठीक है।  कोरोना वायरस को रोकने के लिए भारत ने अपनी लड़ाई में अच्छा प्रदर्शन किया है।
अब हम स्टेज 3 में हैं, जिसमें वायरस सामाजिक संपर्कों और सामाजिक समारोहों में फैलता है। 
यह सबसे महत्वपूर्ण चरण है और पुष्टि किए गए मामलों की संख्या प्रतिदिन तेजी से फैलती है जैसे कि फरवरी के अंतिम सप्ताह और मार्च के दूसरे सप्ताह के बीच इटली में हुआ था।  300 से 10,000 तक।  यदि भारत अगले 3 से 4 हफ्तों तक इस चरण का प्रबंधन करने में सक्षम नहीं होता है, तो संक्रमित हजारों में नहीं बल्कि लाखों में हो सकते हैं। यह अगले एक महीने के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है। यही कारण है कि अधिकांश कार्यक्रम और सार्वजनिक समारोहों को 15 अप्रैल तक बंद कर दिया गया है। सिर्फ इसी वजह से स्कूल बंद हैं, अनिवार्य यात्रा और हॉलिडे बग से बचें। अगले साल छुट्टियां भी आएंगी, इसलिए बच्चों को लेकर कोरोना के साथ अपनी किस्मत ना आज़माएं।
विवाह समारोह, जन्मदिन की पार्टी आदि फिर भी आती रहेंगी, लेकिन ये सोच कर की मुझे कहीं कुछ नहीं होने वाला अपने, अपनों व सामान्य जन के साथ खिलवाड़ ना करें,
पूरी सावधानी बरतें, मेडिकल हिस्ट्री ऑफ इंडिया में अगले 30 दिन सबसे महत्वपूर्ण होंगे।  किसी भी महत्वपूर्ण कार्य के लिए घर पर और बाहर रहते समय सभी सावधानी बरतें। 
एहतियात बरतें,  घबराऐं नहीं !

अगले एक महीने तक सावधान रहने के साथ दूसरों को शिक्षित करके एक जिम्मेदार नागरिक बनें !

PM Modi’s address to the nation on Corona Virus disease (COVID - 19)

While addressing the nation on Coronavirus pandemic and discussing ways to contain its spread, PM Narendra Modi made an appeal to the people of India. PM Modi said that there was no scarcity of essential commodities like food items and medicines and urged people not to indulge in panic buying.

“Steps being taken to ensure that there is no scarcity of essential commodities. I assure the countrymen that all steps are being taken to ensure that there is no shortage of essential goods like milk, food items and medicines. I appeal to all not to go into panic buying to store essential commodities”, said PM Modi during his address.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation on 19th March 2020 at 8 PM, during which he will talk about issues relating to COVID-19 and the efforts to combat it.
